BLASTING AROUND BULAHDELAH

By Paul Gidley — Last Friday 13 May, 14 ‘weekend warriors’ from various business backgrounds and businesses including Forsythes RecruitmentLambourne PartnersAndrews Accountants, Shaw Gidley, Element Advisers and Dirt Action, got together in the hills, ridges and valleys of Bulahdelah and Wang Wauk State Forests for the our first corporate dirt bike ride of 2016.

Dirt Bike Legend Bruce Hancock and his expert crew from Watagan Trail Boke Tours (WTBT) lead the ride over 120 kilometres of gnarly hill climbs, fast and flowing forest trails, technical single track, and log hops and jumps.

There were spills and thrills a plenty; Michael Kinniard from Lambourne Partners was first to take an involuntary dirt sample five minutes into the ride. Not to be out done, stack of the day went to Tim Osborne from Osborne Law doing a double front flip over the hangars and landing it Crusty Demons style down a slope notoriously named by the trail boss “TLC” or “Tractor Limit Control” (not tender loving care).

By the way, every stack costs $2, which the WTBT guys give to the Westpac Helicopter Service. They’re in for a big cheque this time!

All riders arrived back safely around 4pm at the Mount View Hotel Bulahdelah thanks to Bruce and his crew, battered, bruised and buggered but at bliss with the world, to brag about their pursuits of the day and neck a cold brew.

Anyone interested in coming along to the next ride contact Paul Gidley for more details.
